LG_Volt_boost_virginThe LG Optimus L90 launched with Virgin Mobile and Boost Mobile as the LG Volt! The LG Optimus line up comes in many shapes and sizes. From one end of the user spectrum to the other, there is an Optimus for you! The high end of the Optimus line up however has been replaced with devices like the G2 and G Flex, the L90’s and L70’s of this world are left to fill in the mid range and entry level segments. Today the L90 has found a new home in the arms of two Sprint subsidiaries, Virgin and Boost Mobile.

Way back when the LG made F90 was first announced at MWC the device did not take long to find its way to a family. Shortly after its official announcement details surrounding the device and its new name pinned the handset as a Sprint bound device. Months later the F90, while not headed to the Now Network directly is officially available on the carriers pre-paid sister companies Virgin and Boost Mobile and known now as the LG Volt. The device will cost you about $180 bucks without any pesky contract and is available in white for Virgin Mobile and in a dark blue for Boost customers. The Volt is the first handset for the two carriers that come with 150 Mbps LTE connectivity! The specifics on the Volt are just as they were on the L90. The device starts with a 4.7 inch IPS touch screen display hat offers up a 540×960 resolution at 234 pixels per inch. The camera sensor on the Volt is however a bit better off than the L90 as it sports an 8 mega pixel sensor compared to the L90’s 5 mega pixels. A front facing 1.3 mega pixel shooter can be found up front as well. Internally the Volt will rock a Qualcomm made Snapdragon 400 system chip that sports a quad-core 1.2 GHz processor, Adreno 305 GPU, 1 GB of Ram, 8 GB of storage and expandable micro SD memory up to 32 GB. The build of the Volt is also slightly thinner than the L90 and comes with a larger battery at 3000 mAh. Add in connectivity such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, the aforementioned LTE and NFC for such a low price and quality service plans, it’s hard to pass up this as your next phone!
